This term is flying by so quickly...week 5 already! I hope you all had a lovely weekend and enjoyed the gorgeous sunshine and warmth that we had. It feels like summer is on its way!
This week is another busy week with lots of extra things happening...
Swim Rotorua - We are fortunate to have Swim Rotorua coming into school everyday this week to take swimming classes with us. We have 1 hour in the pool every afternoon this week. Please bring your togs everyday, it is an expectation that every child gives these sessions a go...if you have a medical reason for not swimming then please send a note with your child.
Production Rehearsals - These continue at lunchtimes and some after school sessions. As a class, we need to be learning the song 'Joy' so we will be practising this every day. Only 4 weeks to go until showtime!!
JPC Orientation - Wednesday from 12pm to 2pm is JPC orientation. This is for parents to take their child to. If you are going, you are more than welcome to take your child home afterwards rather than bringing them back to school for an hour.
Testing - On Monday we will be having two formal assessments (Science and Reading). Please bring lots of brain food for Monday to help you give these assessments your best!
Go4It - We have Go4It again this week, however it is on Friday morning rather than Thursday afternoon (to fit in with swimming).
Strike Action - School is closed on Tuesday due to the National Teachers Strike Action Day. We really appreciate your support in this issue, and hope that with this strike action we may be able to receive better support from the Ministry to support our younger generation's education. So a huge thank you from all of us for your support with this :)
SVA Rest Home Action Planning - This week we will be spending every spare moment we have planning our Volunteer Project to Lara Lodge. Our action day is planned for Wednesday 21st November from 8.45-11.30ish. A permission form will come home this week along with requesting transport and parent help. Please return this form asap so we can arrange transport and helpers (Our logistics officer - Emma - will be helping to organise this part of our trip).
