Week 2

Good Evening Whanau. I hope you have all had a fun weekend and have settled back into school routines. Thank you for being understanding of my absence last week. Mrs Bye (our lovely reliever) left very positive feedback for how the children settled back into school and the positive attitudes they had all week. I am very excited to be back with our class again and am looking forward to another fun and successful term.

This week our Totora team are starting our exploration taster sessions. These will be held between 11 and 12.30 on Friday's and will continue for 3 weeks. The purpose of these sessions are to give children the opportunity to explore a new skill and get an idea for different skills/activities they may want to inquire into for the remainder of the term. There are lots of options available that children will be able to opt into. We are excited to see how everyone connects with these activities and see what exploration journey all of our children will take this term!

This term, children will bring home a spelling worksheet & new spelling words every week, which are to be completed for homework and returned every Friday (this week it won't come home until Tuesday). If you would like additional homework, I recommend spending time on Math Whizz and Lexia to strengthen literacy and numeracy skills.

Student-Led Conferences are on Tuesday and Wednesday. Please book a time to come in to celebrate learning with your child; this is a great opportunity to share their successes and talk about their goals for this term. For more information, see below...
