Ambrosia Trip

This Tuesday Rm12 went on a class trip to Avaani’s Dad’s restaurant and bar, AMBROSIA. We went there to further continue our healthy cooking challenge that was placed at school, the object of the challenge was to cook a healthy meal for 4 people in a $15 budget. Visiting the restaurant gave us the opportunity to experience what it would be like to be a professional chef!

We arrived at school at the normal time and then we hopped into the parents cars and headed to eat street where the restaurant AMBROSIA was. We had arrived before the restaurant had opened so it was just our class and the chefs. Each group was assigned to a different meal from a different culture.
These included:
  • Gluten free rice bubble kickers - Kiwi/Pacific
  • Vegetarian nachos - Mexican
  • Fish tenders - Kiwi/Pacific
  • Tzatziki dip, which is a cucumber & yoghurt dip - Greek
  • Lamb koftas - Greek

Overall it was a really fun experience and I’m sure everyone enjoyed it lots. One thing that was really challenging was cooperating with our teams and not getting stressed out or getting hurt by the hot pans and the sharp knives.Things that were cool were being able to cook in a professional restaurant with professional chefs and being able to cook and taste foods from different cultures. All of the food that the groups made were delicious!!
