Week 8 Notices

Kia ora wonderful Whanau! This week is Maori language week and Social justice week so we will be doing lots of learning around these areas. It would be great if you could promote Te Reo at home and also talk with your children about our social justice focus which is 'How can we encourage and support those people with disabilities to participate in our communities.'

On Tuesday our wonderful Tinky will be representing St. Mary's at the Rotorua speech competitions at the Harvest Centre. This begins at 5pm and it would be great for some of our children to attend the event to support Tinky. If you are able to take your child along, that would be hugely appreciated.

We also have our ERO review this week so there will be visitors in and out of the classroom to see what we do at St. Mary's. We are feeling very positive about this and know that our wonderful community will be very welcoming of our visitors.

We have a STEAM challenge on Tuesday afternoon that requires newspaper....if you have any spare newspaper for recycling we would really appreciate it for this challenge! Please send it to school with your child before Tuesday if you can.

I am also in the process of organising a class trip for Tuesday 25th September (Week 10) as a reward for our hard working tamariki (they do not know about this yet). I will be in need of quite a few parent helpers for the whole day this day, so if you are available please let me know. I will be arranging a notice with further details very soon, so this is just an initial heads up :)

Lets have an awesome week!

God Bless,
Nicole Hunter
